FT LAUDERDALE, FL private jet charter

Fort Lauderdale is dubbed as the “Venice of America” because it has a canal system to that similar to that in the Italian city. Fort Lauderdale is a great touristic attraction and one of the main boating centers in the US, with more than 40.000 registered yachts. Sure, most of them are available for hire, so if you want to take a stroll on the crystal clear waters around Florida’s shores, all you have to do is go down to the marina and talk to one of the boat owners just waiting for customers to come their way.

Fort Lauderdale has a rainy tropical climate throughout the year, with the wet season, between May and October, being humid and quite hot. The average temperature is about 32 degrees Celsius, so wearing a bathing suit at all times is definitely an option. Still, make sure you’re close to a restaurant or your hotel room around the evening, because thunderstorms are pretty common after the sun sets. During the winter, or the dry season, going from October to April, the temperatures are also quite high, around 28 degrees Celsius, and rains are pretty rare.

This is the time of the year when tourist assault the resort, considering that in New York or San Francisco is very cold and you’re just an air flight away. Fort Lauderdale was primarily a student spring break destination during the second part of the 20th century. The fashion has changed though, and in the last couple of decades, the city is a destination for another kind of tourists. Today, the city is visited by more mature, affluent tourists, many of them having a condo somewhere in the city and a boat in the harbor. Many rich people spend half of the year in Fort Lauderdale, when they take a break from their activities in one of the big cities.

Also, the city it’s a destination for actors and celebrities, and don’t be too surprised to stumble upon Jennifer Aniston while in line at the grocery store. One of the most attractive places in town, in terms of residential options, is Las Olas Boulevard, which developed in the last 20 years as the most valuable place in town to build a house or apartment complex. At the other side of the spectrum, you have one of the world’s most impressive and iconic flea markets, namely the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop. If you’re into collecting memorabilia from the 50’s or 60’s, this is the place to find them. Also, you can swap your collection of tin cans for some scarfs made 50 years ago. Even as a neutral visitor, the venue is pretty spectacular, as it’s a basically an open time capsule of American and world culture.

If you’re passionate about swimming, you can check out the International Swimming Hall of Fame. It is a huge complex dedicated to this sport, including a museum, a theater and even a library. Fortunately, the complex is positioned near the beach, so if all that swimming history makes you feel like swimming, all you have to do is walk a couple of minutes to the beach. Fort Lauderdale is reachable, most spectacularly, by cruise boat, but you can also use more traditional methods, like an airplane. There’s a big international airport serving  the city, as Fort Lauderdale private jet charters and company flights land and take off any minute at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
